Seeing as I am a middle school teacher by day, I will never reveal my actual full name thanks to the powers of Google, but you can call me A. When I'm not grading papers or hanging out in my classroom, you can usually find me at home with my books, Netflix, a random project, and my cat, Matilda. I try to make it on to my yoga mat a few days a week, and to my meditation cushion near-daily. I spend any other free time with my friends, hanging with my nephew and family, taking a spin class, hiking near my home in Northern California, or having a random adventure. I'm also trying my hand at stand-up comedy which is equal parts thrilling and terrifying. I have a loud laugh, an open heart, and a sharp tongue -- all three serve me well and cause me trouble, depending on the moment they emerge.
I've been writing since I was a little girl, telling stories and making sense out of my life in a journal. Writing is how I understand myself, how I understand the world, and how I process. Time and time again, I come back to a writing practice because I truly believe it helps me be the most conscious and present version of myself. This is my space to share about the things that matter to me, my journey towards attempting to be a better person, and tell stories that I think matter.
